Fabric: 13oz unsanforized, organic cotton, organic rope-dyed indigo selvedge from Kurabo mills. The color is heavy indigo, with peach and gold organic cotton stitching throughout. The high quality dye tech makes the Tom a slow fader. With time and patience the indigo will give way to a very handsome royal blue underneath.This mill is known for their dense weave fabrics and the Tom does not disappoint. The benefit of this weave technique is the denim is EXTRA crispy! The denim takes longer to break in but comfortable to wear at 13 oz. It will begin forming honeycombs and whiskers within hours of wear. and it only gets and with patience, a gorgeous high contrast or vintage fade is possible. Due to the high quality of the fabric and the unsanforized nature however, these jeans will contour to most body types after a hot soak. Shrinkage value is 2-5% Selvedge-  These jeans are made from 100% organic cotton which is environmentally friendly. Our choice of dye is a natural indigo dye that has been extracted from plants, and not the synthetic indigo dyes used in regular denim jeans that have been artificially derived from petroleum. This process uses a special eco-friendly dyeing method which reduces CO2 emissions by 50% compared to conventional methods and a washing process that is completely chemical-free. While it is typically a challenge to replicate the usual intensity with natural indigo dye, this method repeatedly dips the product in an indigo bath before resting it as many as 16 times to create an exceptionally intense hue. This Selvedge denim material made in Japan is organic, natural, and eco-friendly, making it the perfect choice for producing vintage denim jeans.
