Sora Skates

Sora Skates - Don and Swagger
Sora Skates

This is a story about a little boy named Sora Chamberlin. Sora is 6 years old. His name means 'sky' and and his little brother's name, Kai, means 'ocean' in Japanese. Sora's dad is American, and his mom is Japanese. They live in Ohio.

Sora has a very rare set of genes. He has genetic condition known as Prader Willi Syndrome. This causes some tough issues for Sora such as delayed development, low muscle tone, an insatiable hunger, and he does not feel pain. He also has a form of cerebral palsy that hampers his motor skills. Despite all of Sora's challenges, his favorite activity is the skate park with his dad, Tristan. He is a young warrior and we are choosing to aid him and others like him in their fight.

Tristan happens to be a hardcore denimhead and a big fan of AW. We are a big fan of him and his son Sora too! When you buy an item in the store, think carefully about which cause you choose to donate to. When you pick the Prader-Willi California Foundation, you are helping Sora and others like him live life more abundantly by funding research to understand and treat his rare condition.

February 28th is National Rare Disease Day.

"The purpose of Rare Disease Day is to harness the creative energy of the millions of people around the world with rare diseases — and the millions who care about them — to raise awareness and generate action."

In order to take part in the effort, AW will match every every dollar that is donated to the Prader-Willi Cali Foundation through the sale of our product, between now and February 28th. Thank you in advance for your support!
